Two Simple Blender 3D designs

I require two basic Blender 2.8 3D designs. The second is a variation of the first. The designs are difficult to describe, so I will attach some rough illustrations: 1. The core is a vertical cylinder 2. For the first design, there are two curved arms or wings emanating from the cylinder, at opposite ends 3. The arms are oriented as shown in the attached illustrations 4. For the second design, there are three of these arms, equi-distant around the cylinder 5. As the cylinder increases in height, the arms twist as in a helix. Amount of twist can be specified in modifier 5. The cylinder and arms taper as they rise. Amount of tapering is also controlled via modifier 6. Finally, the entire thing has a thin wall (is hollow), but via modifier I should be able to change thickness I'm hoping this is doable with a single object plus modifiers. At most 4 objects. I want to be able to tweak it, mostly using modifiers.
