We have recently launched a new website that adds lots of new elements to an old website. You can see it here [login to view URL] The site is built on wordpress and is fairly large (15GB) and complex with three levels of taxonomy that interact to create 10,000s of pages. The site mostly works and looks how we want it to, but it is not as fast as we would like it to be. The google developers pagespeed Insights shows many pages performing in red on mobile and orange on desktop. Some pages, for example the homepage, perform better but the bulk are too slow and it will affect our performance on search engines and the user experience. We would like all pages to be performing at 85+ on Mobile and 95+ on desktop. There are only really 5 types of pages: Homepage: [login to view URL] Archive page: [login to view URL] (there are 10 different types of archive pages each taxonomy on its own eg category [login to view URL] destination [login to view URL] and activity [login to view URL] then also in combination eg activity and destination [login to view URL] and activity destination and category [login to view URL] these come in all combinations) Listing page: [login to view URL] (there are 6 custom post types - holidays, experiences, courses, accommodation, discounts, companies that make up our listing pages. They are all very similar but with subtle differences) Blog posts: [login to view URL] (these are the original wordpress post type) Pages: We have a number of pages eg [login to view URL] and [login to view URL] Of the above Listing pages and blog posts are performing the worst. These should be among the easiest to fix as they are just one page with a lot less hits on the database to get the info that is required. To speed up the site developers have installed a number of plugins: Jetpack (not sure it is being used) Auto optimise Health Status wp fastest cache Smush Pro Assert Clean up All in one migrator pro EWWW Image Optimizer Litespeed cache Critical CSS It seems to me that many of these do similar things and they might be conflicting with each other and possibly slowing the site down. So we are looking for an expert in wordpress site speed and improvements to get to grips with it and improve the site performance.
