I understand that basically you need a way to show the time for both the players as wells as a wave sign below the active player. Looks like you are using it for chess competition maybe. I can write you a driver library for your 32x8 LED Matrix. And you can use to set the time and set the active player. if I may ask, as to how do you intend to update the time and set the active player?
