I am new to this site, but eager to get started and learn new things. I am a passionate writer and I like bigger or smaller writing projects. I have a personal blog that I update once in a while, and work at the moment for a big travel company in Europe as an online marketing intern, producing SEO texts among other things. Here is a writing sample of an extract from a blog post I wrote after a trip to Beirut:
"Zaitunay Bay is a small harbour where you can find some of the biggest boats and yachts you can imagine. The harbour boardwalk was modern and stylish, lined with both local and international restaurants and cafés. It was interesting to see how Beirut is a good example of East meets West. There’s remnants from the time France had a lot of influence in the country, i.e. street signs are the typical French blue ones and plenty of people seemed to speak at least decent French. Beirut was, or is still, called “Petit Paris” or the “Paris of the Middle East” - and for a reason. Nearly everybody speaks good English, because apparently since they were kids, Lebanese people go to school in English or French. What a great system! You become bi-, or even trilingual, which is always a plus. Also you can pay with American dollars everywhere since the local currency is pinned to the American dollar. You can see the influence the US have on Lebanon in form of American stores and American universities with high level of education."
