Parse a serial data stream in C++, Visual Studio 2012

I have a device attached to my computer via a serial interface. I need to send a Poll request to the device in order to receive some data back. I need a C++ program compileable in Visual Studio 2012. The program should run an infinite loop to send a poll request, receive & parse the data and write some of the parameters into a temp file. Every time the program receives data it overwrites the existing data in the file. The program performs checks that the communication with the device is okay. If it finds an error, the program writes an error status into the file, and continues to loop. The Poll request message is: *PX0<cr> The data comes back in the format as in this example: *PX0:I11000105,X3,L290565,H5811,S58,U5941,A8906400,T30,V4090,D3107,P1989,C28<cr> The program will need to read some of these parameters, reformat according to rules that I will provide, and then output into a txt file. For example, it may output for parameter S "Speed is 58". There is a second poll that needs to be performed in the same loop and this follows exactly the same principle as the first poll. Details will be provided to the hired freelancer. I would like to provide a C++ shell code I have used for a similar project. So the successful freelancer just needs to incorporate these 2 poll requests / parsing into the existing shell code. For an experienced programmer this should be quite simple.
