Tweek Joomla Template To display Real-Time Video Hosted Thu

Want to use a fairly standard (joomla compatible) template and customize it to link (real-time video) thumbnails on to the front interface (or frontpage) from a module(s) already running video supported software. Essentially masking the free standing component software with a newer front-page interface. My bet is, this will likely require some modification to the existing code of the component software - but can anyone take it from there, as far as describing the tasks at hand to fulfill this concept. Or if there is a better approach? NOTE: The software module(s) already populates real-time video thumbnails to its interface but - the thumbnails needs to be redirected or duplicated to the newer front interface (the template); the thumbnails will also need to update & populate as new video uploads are created. Input is welcomed.
