Explanation of adaptive LMS filter

Hi, LMS filters are 1)Adaptive Meaning they change according to the signals they are applied to. 2)Regression based They calculate the Mean Square of all the points on once and try to minimize it. 3) Are wholistic They read in all the data, that is why they work with high bandwidth. 4) Are non competitive There is no Min value to reach to, hence they always get better as they are applied but the convergence is not garanteed either. Salem, I am a signal processing engineer and used to code with matlab. Let's say, the explanation is for free. LMS filter : let's assume express the desire to model an unknown system. You have the parametrized model (linear) and the aim is to estimate the parameters of this model. So you make inputs for the real system and the model (with an initial guess of it's parameters). Than you compare the output of the real system with the output of the models. Than, the LMS filter will adjust model parameters to minimize the instantanuous square root error between the real output and the model output. Hi there, I already have an LMS implementation in Matlab, for a digital signal processing course I had like a year ago. I can also explain how it works, and I can even send you my assignment.
