We are seeking genetic counselors to provide hourly tele-consults to individuals who want help interpreting their DNA (genome) data as obtained from various DTC companies, including ancestry and medical information. I have a degree in genetics from the University of Maryland. I worked at the Genetic and Rare Disease Information Center, a project funded by the National Institutes of Health, to answer questions individuals had regarding rare and genetic diseases. This position involved extensive research into these diseases and translation to non-scientific language understandable by lay people. I have three years of medical school as well. I have written a monthly article for a trade journal for internists. I have all the reference books here at my house and can search for information online. I can write medically-oriented material very well.

I feel very comfortable passing on my knowledge to people with any level of education.
