Hi.. i am Henry. For your cases i will create some step to make sure that data migration is done properly. 1. I will split your data into multiple batches. multiple batches is useful to ensure that any migration process runs perfectly and if something goes wrong then we can repeat from the last. 2. I will create staging area between OLTP and Destination Database. Staging area are use to control the ETL Jobs and educe the possibility of error is usually caused by data type problem. 3. As per the requirement we have to migrate customer data from one database to a existing database. The source and target both have customer data (exiting / new) . Customer wants to decommission the old database which had old and new customer. We did this for some shipping corporation. It was a very complex design where we have to consider the common/new customers and table structure also very complex to map.
