The iOS application to be created (called DeckLog) will parse a PDF document sent from other application i.e. the user will view the PDF in an application such as GoodReader then export it (register the Document Type as PDF File [login to view URL]) into this application. As one of the options the user will open the PDF in this application. An example of the PDF is attached. The application should be written in Swift and use Quartz 2D. The data to be displayed in the application is the data on page 6 and 7. The application should be able to scan through the PDF until it comes to the text XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX -- NAV/LOG DATA -- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX It then displays the text until XXXXXXXXXXXXXX -- SECTOR NOTES -- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX In the displayed text all page numbering will be removed and data shown will be just the NAV/LOG data. In some occasions the page numbering may be different but the text before and afterward to start and end the parsing will always the same. All other data in the PDF is to be ignored. The application is iPad only and should support iOS 8.4 onwards with no errors or warnings. All icons and images will be provided to the successful developer. The single milestone payment will be made on successful testing of the application. Once the payment has been made the developer will provide the full source code to the application.

Hello, Your project is pretty simple for me, but as always the devil is in the details, so I have few questions: 1. What is the reason behind making it in swift? ObjC have better code base and libraries to parse PDF documents (including based on Quartz 2D). I personally prefer ObjectiveC and can't warranty same dev time on swift. 2. Is it possible that source document will have more than one segment of NAV/LOG DATA..SECTOR NOTES ? What we should do in this case and how we'll show this to user? 3. App seems for internal use only, how are you going to distribute it? Do you have apple dev account? (You'll need one to distribute your app to devices) 4. Is there any other functions than opening pdf files? Or simple fullscreen document is enough? 5. What kind of images are you talking about? Default screens? If so its easier to use xib launch screens (we can add logo and text there if you want) App development will take about a day plus some time to polish things. It seems you are experienced with freelancer, but usually I suggest to split development to 2 phases, but on this small app we can use only one. You will get build as soon as I'll make it and if we both will be online (I'm somewhere near your timezone, GMT+7) I think we can fit dev time to one day if everything will be fine. Please let me know if you have any questions. Ivan.

I choose efficiency and elegance over convenience when it comes to coding. Minute details of the overall project will be taken care of. I can code in Java, C#, Objective C, and Swift, making it easy to code in all platforms. Also, I am capable of coping with the deadline.
