Automate Windows and Photoshop VB, VB.NET vbscript

Hello, My name is Paul Jordan. I need program written in VB.NET (or something that will get the job done in Windows) that will do a few simple windows operations, and control basic Photoshop 7 functions. I will describe it in pseudo code below. ----------------------------------------------- Process all images in chosen directory 0. prompt user to choose directory of images 1. create folders new_1, new_2, new_3, new_4, new_5 2. open image in directory in Photoshop 7.0 3. run action #1 4. save result in folder new_1 5. run action #2 6. save result in folder new_2 7. run action #3 8. save result in folder new_3 9. run action #4 10. save result in folder new_4 11. run action #5 12. save result in folder new_5 13. close image 14. Loop back to operation 2 and increment image 15. repeat until all images in chosen directory are processed. ---------------------------------------------------- "action" in above pseudo code pertains to the "macros" that are in Photoshop. We have made our own "actions" but need a way to bring in a directory of images one by one, and loop through above steps. I am learning VB.NET (and have Visual [login to view URL] standard), so if the program needed tweaking later I could handle it. I just need a jumpstart of a working model. I am an open source developer, so I am familiar with programming practices, and am willing to pay for code that can 'almost' get the job done, and I can connect the dots later (i.e., fine tune action calls, Photoshop "save as" settings, etc). You need not offer warranty, or deliver a "fully" functional product. This VB.NET app will serve as a "model" that I can alter for our changing needs WRT "actions" sets. I don't want to appear lazy, but I have my hands full with what I was hired for (perl,mysql). Thank you for taking the time to read this. Mostly just looking for: - prompt user for main directory - create additional pre-defined folders in that directory - loop through images in main directory - invoke a Photoshop "actions" - invoke photoshop "save" command to a defined folder based on the users selected main directory These are the main functions I need.
