Arvada Police Department Website

The Arvada Police Department (Arvada, CO) is in the process of redesigning our public website, [[login to view URL]][1] We have gathered requirements through a series of brainstorming sessions. We will be choosing 2-3 graphic designers through [login to view URL] and/or ELance.com. Each designer will be paid to design 2 visual prototypes of a web page layout. After that, we will choose one designer’s layout design and work with that designer to make revisions and deliver a final design complete with image, CSS, and template files. The project will be divided into two phases. All designers will bid on Phase 1 (initial visual prototypes) and the selected designer will then go on to complete Phase 2. For now, please bid only on Phase 1, but include bid estimates for entire project in the body of your bid response. Separate bid amounts for each of the different phases. Design & Navigation Requirements: See attached design spec pdf for further details. ## Deliverables Phase/Bid 1 (Deliver by February 15, 2006) * Each designer will create 2 different visual prototype layout styles. Each style will have a mockup of a homepage and 2 second level pages (a total of 6 screens). Each of the 2 design approaches should illustrate a different design using combinations of our branding elements. The initial prototypes should be delivered in Adobe PDF format. Phase/Bid 2 (Deliver by March 3, 2006) * In phase 2, we will choose one of the initial prototypes to develop. After choosing one of the initial design layouts, two design revisions (if needed) should be included in the original bid. * Additional design revisions may be needed, but will be completed through a separate “private auction.?? Please include, in the comment area of this bid, an estimated amount for additional revisions. * Designer will provide CSS file and HTML/XHTML template pages for layout. We want a table-less layout. * The Arvada Police Department will retain all rights of accepted documents and source code. Total Deliverables for Both Phases For summary, below are listed all the deliverables needed to complete the project. 2 - Initial visual prototypes with up to 2 revisions 1 - CSS file 1 - Images document (layered Photoshop or Freehand) 1 - Homepage template file 2 - Second level page template file Other: Because this project is being completed for a city government, the winning bidder may be asked to supply personal information for a background check. Only bid on this project if you are willing to submit to a background check. ## Platform Technical Requirements Layout/Design * No heavily graphic-intensive designs * No heavily Flash-intensive designs (some Flash elements ok as long as alternative display available for non-Flash visitors) * Use of approved color schemes and logos is encouraged when applicable. * No splash pages.
