(YOU MAY HAVE SEEN THIS REQUEST A FEW WEEKS BACK - WE WERE UNHAPPY WITH THE BIDS RECEIVED AND REALIZED THAT WE JUST DIDN'T DESCRIBE THE PROJECT WELL ENOUGH)
We are a professional fashion & beauty photography studio.
We're seeking a Flash Designer/Developer to create a new user interface/front end (FRONT END ONLY) for our online portfolio. We have already built a backend which updates a database with the correct information and allows us to upload photographs to a directory on our server, we are seeking an individual to create the front end to our design specifications to pull data from the database, load photographs depicted in the URL in the Database, and display text and images to the website visitor. We are seeking development of this portfolio section only; no contact us pages, etc.
The portfolio will allow the visitor to select what they wish to view from multiple categories and view STORIES of images within those categories. After a visitor selects a category - Flash should gracefully (animation) display the available "photographic stories" available within that category. Once a user selects a story to view, Flash should gracefully (animation) display the photographs from LEFT TO RIGHT on the screen with the ability to scroll (horizontally) if there are more photographs than fit the screen. At any point within the process, the user should be able to go BACK to the category they are viewing, OR back to the category menu.
Here is a site that has a very similar navigation:
Stage one: User clicks Portfolio
Stage two: User selects category (eg: fashion)
Stage three: thumbs and story title and info displays on the right
Stage four: User selects thumb and it displays images scrolling horrizontally for that particular story
This interface should be EASY to navigate.
Yes, We understand that there doesn't have to be a database backend, and we understand that this can be done with XML. But this is all part of a larger asset management system that we've been developing for our studio and the data MUST come from our database. So you will 1) be creating scripts to take the data you need out of the database dynamically and put it in a format that flash can read. 2) create the flash. I can show the database structure to interested parties.
Please let us know your timeline. How soon can you take up this project? How soon can you finish it?
ALSO don't submit a bit and then in a PM say "We'll discuss the pricing". If you have questions, don't submit a bit -- ASK QUESTIONS!!!! Then Submit a bid.
