Incident Mapping Project

I am seeking to clone a website's functionality: www.crimehouston.com. Prefer the maps are open source as maps will be commercially for sale. User interface will need to be improved. ## Deliverables The below is a scope description from an existing bid I AM VERY OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS!!! Technology to be used: 1) Google Maps APIs 2) PHP 3) JavaScript 4) MS-Access UI: 1) Please provide Logo and Header of the website. 2) Please provide some websites which you like in terms of look and feel. It will be very helpful to design the mock-up screens. Website will have two parts: 1. User Area: This will contain around 5 static pages. This area can be accessed by any visitor. User can fill a “search criteria request form?? present on the website, and all the filled information will be sent to admin email. Requester needs to pay some money (amount can vary) to administrator’s Paypal account. This payment will be manual and will not be integrated with the website. Ones admin receives the search criteria request; he can generate a map using the admin panel. Ones map is created admin can generate a link where this map will be accessible for “X?? (configurable) days. After “X?? days this link will not be accessible to end user but will still be accessible to admin. 2. Admin Area: 1. Admin can import the records from a excel file. 1. Admin can import the records from a excel file. Excel file format is required. 2. Admin can search the map on the basis of following parameters [Search will be AJAX based]: i. Date Range ii. Crime Type iii. Premises Type . 4. When the map resizes, it calculates the number of crimes that are being displayed on the map. That is displayed in the upper right corner of the map (in both admin and user maps). For both Admin and users: 1) Display the distance from the address of the search. So in the pop up of the pin it says something like: Distance from address: .5 miles. 2) Cumulative number if more than one crime is committed at a single location. When pin is clicked all records can be shown in the info window using previous/next. 3) Printable map: Map will need to list the crimes below the map. Map will contain cumulative number of crimes. In the list below map following format is proposed: No of Records ( shown in Marker also) Details 3 Details of record 1 Details of record 2 Details of record 3 12 Details of record A1 - - - - - - - - - - - - Details of record A12 Suggested Features: 1) We can give user an option to draw a polygon (or multiple) and treat that polygon as the boundary and show only those results which falls inside that area. Instead of giving the choice of circle or rectangle, polygon would be best. It will be very useful in cases where user wants to search only in few particular areas and those areas are away from each other. Project can be delivered in two phases: 1) Phase-I: All Features without admin 2) Phase-II: Admin Section Deliverables: 1) As per the current understanding and further discussions in near future, we will create a requirement document. Ones requirement document is freeze, that document will be used throughout the development process as a baseline. 2) We will create 2 to 3 mockup screens for homepage and submit that to you. You can choose any of them and we will modify that as per your feedback.
