Here's a description of the new project, which consists of a script that will be used to routinely perform a BLASTP similarity search and add new results to a local 'database'. The script will submit biological sequence data to an online form, and parse the results.
The script will read sequence data from a .txt file (given when running the script [ie. [login to view URL] -i seq1 ]). A results directory should be created based on the filename of the input files and the date (ie. \seq1-20051015). I would like the results directory to contain a copy of all files (HTML and images) displayed on the resulting webpage, and parsed summary files.
I will provide sample input files for testing of the scripts, as well as examples of output files with expected formatting of results. I can provide additional input files for testing the script.
A more detailed description of the project can be found within overview-description.txt.
