The paper should delve substantially into a thesis which is additionally supported by multiple literary devices such as plot, theme, style, form, symbol(s), characters/archetypes, etc. You must choose ONE of the following topics to construct your Literary Research Paper. Character Analysis: Imagine that Ray Bradbury has chosen to write a novel about you and a difficult experience/time in your life. Identify and fully explain the literary elements that this author would use to describe/present you and your story. Explain how the author used the same elements to describe/present the story of ONE character within the novel. Fully compare/contrast both presentations. Setting as a Character: The locations within this work can be viewed as their own characters in terms of how they impact the lives of the human characters. Choose a minimum of three locations in your own life and directly compare/contrast how these settings impact(ed) you as a person. Direct comparisons/contrasts should be made between the locations/settings/impacts in the novel and in your own life. Cultural and Ethnic Identity: Examine how one character in the novel grapples with issues of cultural identity and assimilation. Now, examine yourself through the same lens. Compare and/or fully contrast your experiences to that of the character. You must use a minimum of one quote EACH from three (3) secondary sources (full text articles from GALILEO, EBSCO Host, AND/OR Google Scholar) and one (1) primary source (the primary source for this paper is the novella Anthem).
