I want to accurately describe mathematically the highlighted equation. I am not sure it’s perfectly correct as written. I have highlighted the one scientific reference on the constant described (attached as a file). Ideally, I need you to validate it or correct it. Further it would be nice to write some tables, perhaps in XLS to illustrate the boundary conditions of the variables described, t, f, d etc to make this “real” My partner has identified light sources at 222 nm. We want to ensure we pick one with sufficient power or fluence to work across this proposed conditions or tables before we set up bench top experiments The probability of killing or proportion of microbes (viruses, bacteria) killed during irradiation in the killing plane or prism depends on the exposure of the energy absorbed by the microbe which depends on the time of exposure during its passage through the approximate 10 cm zone, and the fluence of 222 nm. (t = time in seconds, v = velocity in m/s of particles containing the microbe, f = fluence in joules of the light source, d=distance of irradiated killing zone traversed in m) and a constant for each microbe. p(kill) ~ t * v * f * D90 Based on published literature of killing of various example microbes a susceptibility constant, can be determined for each microbe, k (in m2/joules). Accordingly, inactivation or killing at 90, 99, 99.9, 99.99 percent and greater proportions can be described as follows. D90 = - ln (1-0.90) / k D99 = - ln (1-0.99) / k D99.9 = - ln (1-0.999) / k D99.99 = - ln (1-0.9999) / k Etc.
