We are a small start-up business in Singapore. We need someone in Singapore to provide assistance as a part-time (ad-hoc) IT assistant / manager.
Currently all infrastructure is either in a datacentre or cloud-based:
• a server in a data centre operating Windows Server 2012 r2; and
• a cloud based webserver and email server.
We have a number of initial tasks which we need help with immediately (maybe 10 to 20 hours). We then need ad-hoc assistance of maybe 5 to 10 hours per month in a light month and 20+ hours in a more significant month.
Initial tasks include:
• Review and management for our Windows server to check it is set up correctly (e.g. firewall settings, VPN settings, backup etc), making recommendations and making agreed changes;
• Setting up the webserver and email server to ensure: (a) web server is secure etc (we have a single website which is currently information only); and (b) setting up an IMAP email server with multiple email addresses (e.g. contact@ technicalsupport@ sales@ etc) and multiple email diverts
• Configuring around 25 domain names to ensure that all divert traffic to the webserver and ensuring emails from all domains divert to the main email addresses.
• Assisting with managing iOS and Android developer accounts for two apps (no development is required).
Going forward, we will need ad-hoc assistance from time to time (probably mostly with server management, domain name management and app store management).
We do not currently have a physical office but that may change if the service is a success, in which case there will be future work setting up physical infrastructure.
As you will require all passwords and unfettered access to the servers etc, for security I am afraid we can only use someone who is physically located in Singapore and who is willing to provide reasonable evidence of location and identity (e.g. verifiable NRIC or company details).
