Create a lab in VMWare where you have installed 2 instances of Server 2016 called KPUDC1 (the Domain Controller), and KPUDC2 (a 2nd domain controller, file server & DHCP server) and 1 instance of Windows 10 (make sure it's Professional) called KPUClient1. Use the Host Only adaptor in VMware, and configure the following address space: [login to view URL] - the two servers will be configured with [login to view URL] and .15 respectively with the DHCP scope being between .50 and .150 - be aware that 'ping' is blocked via the firewall by default, so...... - The domain you use will be <firstname>[login to view URL] - eg [login to view URL] Create an admin account with your first name as user name (who has admin permissions) so you don't have to log in as administrator all the time. (hint: add domainadmins and administrators permissions) KPUDC2 will be a backup Domain Controller, a file server, and DHCP server with the above noted scope. - Configure the Win10 client with a static address in the above noted range. (I will still look at the DHCP scope, but the client will not pick up the correct DHCP address - so use a static address) - Create a reverse lookup zone on the DNS server and ensure all added client machines are listed. - So that you have internet access, add a 2nd network interface to KPUDC1 that is connected to your host's NAT network, and using Routing and Remote Access, connect your internal network to the Internet (by essentially turning KPUDC1 into a simple router) Hint: rename your network interfaces. - Install Active Directory Users and Computers (RSAT) on your Win10 client machine (add some other tools as well) RSAT is not downloaded and installed anymore - it is an app in Windows. So figure out how to add RSAT into Windows, nowadays. IMPORTANT NOTE: your client will need Internet connectivity for this to successfully work. - Create 2 OUs - _SURREY and _LANGLEY, and within each OU, add the Computers and Users OUs, respectively. - Create 3 User Security groups - Admins, Faculty and Students. - Then create 6 users - 1 for each group on each campus - with the appropriate security permissions. - Create appropriate number of computers for users. - Enable File & Share Access on KPUDC2, so that users can access their allowed files on the File Server. Create 3 separate sharing folders - 1 each for Admin, Faculty and Students, and ensure that permissions are correctly created. - Setup a password policy in the default Domain Policy - Research and implement some basic Best Practices policies into both the _SURREY and _LANGLEY campuses. Include at least 3 Computer Config and 3 User Config policies. Show the policies you implemented and explain why you selected them. SUBMISSION: Create a document that describes your VM setup process, explaining reasons for choices made, successes and issues with your installation process, and images proving that each feature is functioning. (your images will need to identify the requested service running on the specified device, etc). Explain reasoning for password policy. Explain other group policies. Some marks will be applied towards the professional look of the submitted document.
