I have just taken over admin for this training site - [login to view URL]
So, if we look at say - [login to view URL], the previous Admin created Field Groups for each element, eg. Objectives, Locations etc. So, far so good.
However, rather than use CPT to create the new Post type, they simply have renamed Posts to Courses (1) in the [login to view URL] file. What I want, in the end, is a more maintainable and robust approach going forward.
I have installed CPT (4) and created a new Post Type named Courses (2)
In ACF I have added the new CPT (Courses) in settings (6)
All I need to do is export the Courses that have been created in Posts (1) and Import them into ACF (2)
Question. How do I do that?
If I try to Export Post natively using Tools > Exports, it downloads as an XML file. To Import to ACF it requires a JSON format. I have converted XML to JSON, but no luck.
Or is the better way to create a php script to copy over the field data?
Hello, you need to create custom php code snippet to fetch old entries in database and insert as your new post type. Old owner approach was really bad btw, I didn't see such a bad idea before :)
